About me
My aim is to be the kind of therapist that I would want to see. I keep it real, and I genuinely care about each and every one of my clients. That is why I actually spend time and read the forms you fill out when you become a new client. I hate it when doctors ask you to write down important details and then they never even go over it with you! Same with the emails! I will make sure that I reply to each and every one of you! Also, I will never take notes during the sessions and I will never let you do all the talk. At the same time, I have realised that people who come to therapy are people who are ready to listen to another perspective, and that they realise that I won’t just make their problems disappear from one session to the other. They appreciate my straightforward approach whilst being supportive and very engaged during the session.
My approach to individual therapy
The discussion will be geared towards getting information about each person’s beliefs, values, needs as well as inviting the client to see the presenting problem differently and ultimately create more constructive and honest relationships
The aim is to move away from blaming the client’s family but rather gain a better understanding about the family’s as well as the individual’s needs
In between the sessions you may be asked to think about our discussion, the connections which we made together and possibly complete some relevant tasks, which will enable you to start practicing some points already mentioned during the sessions
Our first individual session
Your first session with me is a space to pause, breathe, and begin. It’s not about diving deep straight away—it’s about making sense of what’s bringing you to therapy and seeing if we’re the right fit to work together.
You can expect a calm, respectful conversation where I’ll ask some gentle questions to understand your current challenges, what support you’re looking for, and what goals (if any) you might have. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out.
Whether you’re dealing with stress, burnout, difficult family dynamics, or a sense of disconnection, this first session is the beginning of a process where you’ll be seen, heard, and supported without judgment.
