About me
Hi, I’m Maya, a Danish-born, British psychotherapist and supervisor working exclusively online. I became a therapist to empower people to rise above trauma and challenging life experiences. My goal is to help individuals understand the root causes of their triggers, relational patterns, and insecurities—so they can overcome these difficulties and live a more fulfilling life.
My approach to individual therapy
When life feels challenging, daunting or unfulfilling, it’s usually a result of trauma, difficult life events or relational issues. This can make you feel anxious, depressed and not quite yourself. You might feel a bit alone, disconnected or misunderstood, and you probably picked up some negative thoughts and habits as a way to cope. You can overcome this. You can work through the coping mechanisms that no longer work for you. You can feel lighter and more at ease in life.
Our first individual session
Your initial online session will give you a sense of whether therapy is right for you. It is a non-judgmental space where you can begin to explore and make sense of personal experiences and difficulties in a safe, supportive and confidential environment. If you decide to engage with ongoing therapy, we will agree on a reoccurring weekly appointment, which will be yours for as long as you want it.
