About me

Hi, healing is in my family, my mum was a psychotherapist and bodyworker, I became a bodyworker at 18, having grown up in a healing community after my parents separated. I have been a Creative Arts Psychotherapist since 2017. During my MA I was employed by UWE as a sessional mental health mentor. In 2018 I started Natural Genius, to provide Integrative and Creative Psychotherapy to children and adults in Bristol. I train on trauma informed practice, understanding behaviour, creativity, mental health, co-regulation, meditation, contact improvisation and psychedelic understanding and integration. In addition to group, family, couples and 1:1 therapy, and clinical supervision I facilitate group and 1:1 external supervision, across a variety of provisions in Bristol in the charity and education sectors.

My approach to couples therapy

Working with projection, transference and attachment schemas, we explore areas for difficulty and freedom in both of you. We work with how to find stability and respect and being there without taking hostage in long term relationships, and finding ways to deepen into further shared intimacy and safety. I am also there for you both to support the individuation and on-going developmental process, inviting the challenge of being a couple to continue to take you on a journey of discovery, connection, commitment and freedom.

Our first couples session

A cup of tea, and a getting to know each other session. We will explore your intentions, current capacities, finding your feet, agreeing our initial contracting, i.e initial length of engagement, how to manage conflict if/when it arises. Different ways of working and tools we may use, and what you are familiar with, how you managed to get to where you are. What's working, not working, some theories that might be helpful; nervous system, mirroring, projection, polarity, dependency, attachment, etc.
